Guidance & Competence Mölndal is the unit in the city of Mölndal responsible for study and career guidance within all the city's own schools, regardless of school form and level. Guidance & Competence Mölndal belongs to the Education Administration, which otherwise organizes upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, adult education, and YH education in the city.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a study and career counselor at Guidance & Competence Mölndal, VKM, you will be placed at Krokslättsgymnasiet in the unit Studion and the IM programs. You will support students in their decision-making process regarding studies within upper secondary school and the students' ability to develop their skills and make choices about studies and professions. As a SYV with us, you will work with the upper secondary school choice, search for internships for some IM students, participate in EHT and other networks. You will work in collaboration with other staff at the school, and the principal is your supervisor. The unit manager at Guidance & Competence Mölndal is your manager.

The Studion is a special teaching group for students who need extra support and adjustments, where IM can also be a threshold. Here, you work very closely with the work team and are close to the students and participate in the activities. The students eat their lunch in their own premises. IM has the orientations IMIA and Language Introduction. Here, you also work together with the work team. There is also a SYV in Krokslättsgymnasiet's national programs.

We at our unit (VKM) meet half a day a week for training, APT, or some form of development work in various groups. This takes place at our office at Brogatan 9 in central Mölndal.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is engaged, communicative, clear, and has good knowledge of conversation methodology. You should be able to inspire and stimulate students to handle decision-making situations and broaden their perspectives by challenging their ideas about the future. You are a trained study and career counselor from one of our three educational providers in the country and have an approach based on current research and evaluation in planning and implementing the measures that students should be offered. Working digitally and being interested and development-oriented about new digital opportunities in the professional role must be an interest and something you want to continue working with. Also, working in a team, as that is what we do!

You have social skills and are outgoing, flexible, and attentive. You create contacts and maintain relationships and are collaborative. You have empathetic abilities and a desire to help others and work to guide them to solutions. You are good at communicating and working in a way that creates participation. You are secure and have a humanistic value base and a holistic view of the student.

You have the ability to prioritize and plan your work so that you achieve the desired results.
